Ministry Of Education And Vocation

Terry Said:

What about this dude Dolan: Church must do more to aid immigrants wants Hispanic Catholics to feel at home?

We Answered:

They are global idiots. Why don't they just move all their churches to mexico if they only want to help mexicans.

Youth Pastor Changing His Vocation?

We Answered:

For 10 years you've been relating to people. This leaves things wide open - try sales, guidance counselling, Human Relations. Maybe sports coaching, teaching. Personnel recruitment. Employee training, or something else involving public speaking. Sure they all may involve continuing education of some kind, but every job change always does. (Take it from someone whose job has changed many times since graduating from college...) Your opportunities are numerous!

There are two types of people in the business world - (1) those who are best at relating to people, and (2) those who are best at relating to machines or things - the technical people. As a youth pastor you probably fall into category #1. Good people in category #2 are much easier to find. A good person in category #1 is worth their weight in gold to today's company, and a wise company is always looking for people like that, even if they aren't advertising for any new positions. Be that person! And furthermore, prove to your new/prospective employer that you're not afraid of something new and that you will go out of your way to learn new things even before you have to, and the job will be yours. An ambitious, motivated person who goes out and learns new things on his own before he is forced to stands out in today's crowd.

It's people who stand out that get hired.
