Mildred Said:

Which vocational school should i attend?

We Answered:

In order for you to be able to transfer to another school, the school where you get your associates must be regionally accredited. There are all sorts of types of accreditation out there, but if your school isn't regionally accredited, you can't transfer.

How can you tell if a school is regionally accredited? They'll list, in their "about us" or "accreditation" section of their website, that they're accredited by one of these groups:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regional_ac…

Don't look at any school that isn't regionally accredited.

In addition, beware of the classes you take, and what degree you do for your associates. In order for the maximum amount of classes to transfer, you need to be taking *academic* classes, not *vocational* classes. A lot of those online schools end up offering majors that other schools see as vocational - and students have difficulty transferring. It's really better to get your associates from a traditional, offline, brick and mortar school that *also* grants associates degrees online, so that you have maximum chance of being able to transfer all your classes.

So first, check your local state and community colleges. A lot of them offer online degrees now, and they're reputable and certainly your cheapest option. In addition, you'll find online associates degrees offered by reputable colleges like Southern New Hampshire University, Northeastern University, Regis University, several of the SUNY schools, and many others. Regis and SNHU I know both operate on accelerated schedules, so you'd get your degree more quickly. You could check if Northeastern does as well.

When you're picking a major, talk to the school about things like transferability. Again, some majors will transfer more easily than others, and you want to pick wisely.

Hvac online cource at Penn Foster?

We Answered:

i have been attending a trade school for the same . i don't know how well an online course could teach you in this field. it has taken alot of hands on training to get where i am now . our instructor has job postings daily from the companies in neighboring cities that don't hire from the schools there because of lack of training at them. i suggest you do what i did and call or meet with possible future employers and ask them what school they recommend. sometimes you will be suprised at what they tell you.

Gladys Said:

is the University of Missouri High School a good online school for going on to college?

We Answered:

I live in Missouri and I've heard nothing but good things about it. I have never personally used it though. Maybe try finding someone who is in the program to talk too. I bet a counselor could set you up with someone currently in the program who can explain the ups and downs.
