Tell her the word 'vocation' means job and that 'vocational skills' are the skills and information a person needs to know and apply in order to get a job in a particular area. For example: A Fireman needs to know such things as how to put out different types of fires (e.g. wood, grease, electrical, chemical etc.), how to rescue people and animals from a burning building, basic CPR and first aide, fire safety rules and regulations for inspections and educational presentations, how to successfully use the tools of the trade (i.e. hose, axe, chemical sprays, truck boom ladders, oxygen tanks and masks, driving fire trucks in traffic, etc.), and so on.
