Sounds like an excellent idea to me.

I'm not sure if any exist already, but it would certainly be nice to have a school to teach skills to mentally disabled people on a schedule easier for them to follow.

I had friends who were involved in a school like that in Spain. There were several levels, accorrding to the level of disability. It was great to see so many people who would otherwise have been left out on life being involved in useful work.
So go for it.

I'm not sure if you would have much demand as there are already lots of design agencies, colleges & universities offering CAD training services.

Vocational schools teach you hands-on skills. Most graduates of vo-techs go on to community colllege, and some go on to 4 years. If you are looking for academics, stick with your private, or go to a traditional public high school, not a vocational. One more thing, you are not a valedictorian until you graduate, you are only a freshman.

This is still allowed--there are private schools for the diabled in my state-with new ones opening.

The trick is t hat the district has to make a case as to why the student needs that type of school instead of keeping him in the school/class he would be in if he weren't diabled....
