Rebecca Said:
How many days of school can you miss before they can legally kick you out?We Answered:
I could tell you the laws of my state, but they are not universal. In my state, you could miss a total of 18 days over the year (ten percent of the school year). However, medical absences are not included in that total. If out for medical reasons one can still pass the classes.Susan Said:
I want to be a nurse, What Universities offer a great (good) nursing program? We Answered:
Well if you want the best nursing programs out there I'm pretty sure that UPenn and Johns Hopkins are top contenders.I've seen a presentation about UPenn's nursing program and it's really high tech with like robot patients that can simulate any symptom. It's highly compettive, too; only 100 people at a time, but by the time you've graduated you will have gotten at least 7 job offers. It's the only Ivy that offers a nursing program.
Johns Hopkins has always been THE medical university so there's plenty of resources for med students such as nurses.
Honestly though, nurses are in such a shortage right now that even if you came from a second rate university you won't be searching for a job long.
By the way, you're applying to Brigham Young U? Does that mean you're Mormon? Because if you're not you will stick out like a sore thumb (98% of students are Mormon).

what are some good colleges/ universities that are cheap but a good school that offers a nursing major? We Answered:
BYU is among the less expensive universities, especially when financial aid packages are taken into account.A campus of your state univesity will probably be least expensive for you. Not all campuses of the state university offer nursing in some states.
Make sure that your high school program will qualify you for BYU and your state university. Many programs which are one-half vocational and only one-half academic will not qualify you and you would need to go next to community college.

I am stationed overseas with my husband who is active duty Army. I want to continue to work on my schooling...?We Answered:
University of Maryland University College (UMUC) offers a degree in education, but it is not the track for teachers. That is, their degree is intended for those who want to work in education policy making, school districts offices, or teach their trade at community colleges, such as EMTs and welders who want to become full time trade/technical educators. You would not sit for the PRAXIS exams, or have any student-teacher time with this degree plan, therefore you would not fulfill any states' requirements for primary or secondary educators.
That being said, it is a full four year degree from an accredited university.
You cannot earn a teaching degree with credentials through any vocational school.
Your best bet is to start and complete as much college course work as possible, then when you return to the states transfer to a new college declare yourself as an education major there..
