Also ... you may need to see what is comparable. A lot of times, different markets pay at different rates - you may not be able to ask for what you used to be making. (My favorite way to decide if I'm above the market is go and talk to one of the big temp agencies - and just register even if you don't want a temp gig. When you are talking to the recruiter and they ask you what you are looking for - just tell them you aren't familiar with the market and ask what they think you should be asking. It isn't the greatest - but it gives you an idea.)
