The tricky part may be getting the school to accept his credits if you homeschool. In some places if you start homeschooling high school... you just need to plan on finish high school with homeschool. While colleges will take the homeschool credits, at times the local high school will make your homeschooler start over if they return to public school.I would make my first call to the vocational high school he will be attending next year. Find out what there policies are for accepting homeschooled credits. If they are strict about this... you will either need to leave him where he is *or* 'homeschool' in a way that will give credits more widely accepted by public schools. ('Virtual' public school for example... but these rarely take midyear transfers. This website is also be an option: http://www.narhs.org/ )
After that... you'll be ready to talk to the counselor. If the school he is headed to is happy... then yeah... you give the counselor a nice raspberry if she gets snippy. :-D
