Education is a means for increasing knowledge. A popular slogan is “Knowledge is power.” This is a true statement. Knowledge empowers people to become leaders, to be more productive, and to become the teachers of others. Education allows for the acquisition of knowledge at a speed that surpasses relying on experience for knowledge.
Education is important because a quality education improves the student’s skills set as knowledge increases. The recent recession has convinced many adults that pursuing more education to improve skills and credentials may not only be wise, but may be a necessity in a shrinking job market.
if education itself is important adult education is ofcourse important
For changes being taking place in world and that too in all dimension it is better to remained tuned with contemporary way of thoughts and living. Therefore education for adult is necessary.
1. in a complex modern democracy, citizens must be knowledgeable.
2. research shows that older people who keep their minds active suffer less dementia and other memory type diseases in old age.
3. in a complex modern economy, workers must be up-to-date on new techniques, and technologies related to their job.

The biggest issue, I believe, is in the total hypocrisy of the people who teach about the origin of matter. The First Law of Thermodynamics says: Energy can be changed from one form to another, but it cannot be created or destroyed. And then they turn right around and start talking about some unknown, and unprovable animal that is the missing link. From this totally unprovable context, they Proceed to invent an entire theory about the age of the earth being billions of years old without having any proof. The so-called scientific world teaches students that they need to be curious, yet when they pursue a different thought process about evolution not being exact science, the student suddenly finds themself failing because they actually did some thinking instead of just parroting back a false theory. They are also taught that something remains a theory until it can be proven under scientific discovery. Yet, the so called experts began to write books that make a false theory become fact.

Practically any of the theorists currently covered in education programs- Vygotsky, Piaget, Freire. What you describe IS the current philosophy on education- the fact that many teachers fall back on the models from their own schooling rather than teaching by the principles they learned in their education classes is another issue.
