Jerry Said:

What is the difference in a full scope and limited scope x-ray tech?

We Answered:

The ASRT defines a limited x-ray machine operator as an individual other than a radiologic technologist who performs diagnostic x-ray procedures on selected anatomical sites.

I don't know any limited scope techs and I don't know anyplace that hires them. They are limited in what they can do, where they can work, and how much they make.

Maurice Said:

How much does a Radiology Tech (X-ray Tech) make starting out in Orlando, FL?

We Answered:

Being a med assistant is a great stepping stone. Don't get stuck though. Keep on with school as your salary will grow exponentially. The current mean x-ray technician salary for radiographers (four year degree) with less than 2 years of experience, nationally, is $36,918. The current mean x-ray tech salary for radiographers with three to five years experience is $43,003.
The current mean x-ray technician salary for radiographers with six to ten years experience is $54,465. This national mean increases to $57,855 and $64,550 with 11 to 20 years or 20-plus years of experience, respectively.
Your x-ray technician salary is also affected by your workplace. For instance, radiographers employed by V.A. hospitals and the Armed Services tend to earn a lower mean salary than those in mobile units, hospitals (particularly not-for-profit facilities), and diagnostic imaging centers.
Your med tech degree will help you mostly in patient care and that is never a bad thing.

I am an X-ray tech looking for work in hawaii, willing to relocate?

We Answered:

There is a shortage, and they may pay some relocation if you are willing to make a commitment to stay for awhile. Hawaii Medical Center will NOT pay the best and I would stick with the big medical centers--Queen's, Kapiolani, Straub, and possibly Kaiser.

Albert Said:

What is the difference with a medical x-ray tech and radiologic tech?

We Answered:

I am an x-ray student in a bachelor x-ray program. Right now, when you graduate from an X-ray school you will have to take a registry exam to get a license from ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist). So no matter you're being called x-ray tech, radiology tech, medical radiographer or etc.. it is all the same as long as u get the license. Just keep in mind that if you want to get into a x-ray school, you might want to check the ARRT website and see if the school is accredited by ARRT. Here's the link. http://www.arrt.org/index.html?content=h…
You can check the website for more information. I'm graduating next month and so far most of my classmates have a tuff time finding a job. It might be the economy or america is just flooded with too many x-ray school. But good luck if you want to become an x-ray techologist and hopefully when u complete your course work you will have a job. :)
