Go to a psychologist to get a diagnosis for a learning disability. Insurance should cover it if he is a lawyer.

But SSI/SSDI does not cover learning disabilities. Their definition of disability is a cognitive impairment which substantially and adversely affects a life function.

If he could earn a law degree, it would be nearly impossible to prove that he lacks cognitive skills to be productively employable because of disability.
