Beatrice Said:

Anyone in the Allegheny County Pennsylvania ARD program. Want to hear of YOUR experience.?

We Answered:

Take advantage of the program. You avoid a conviction.

If you plan on getting arrested again in the future, then forget about it, take the conviction and move on. If not, get into the program, follow the rules and avoid the stain on your record.

The ARD program is not available in New York State. First time offenders here are more likely to have to swallow a misdemeanor conviction and not get any rehabilitation to boot. I think the PA ARD program is a good one, it encourages a young person to get some help and rewards them with the matter being wiped off their record.

Becky Said:

Deferred from University of Michigan. Do I have a chance?

We Answered:

I definitely think you have a chance. The only thing that's not in your favor is your GPA. I just looked this up the other day and I think the average GPA of a student who was accepted to U of M was 3.8.

A lot of people from my high school got deferred this year too, and with all their activities, classes, and GPA, it doesn't seem fair at all. (And we live fewer than 10 miles from the U of M--very in-state!) My brother is a freshman at the U of M right now, and he said that next year's freshman class at Michigan will have to be smaller, as the class of 2014 that they accepted is much too large. In order to have enough housing for all their students, they have to cut back the incoming freshman class.

Good luck!

Maxine Said:

Do you think the rehab folks would go for me to be a massage therapist?

We Answered:

Sounds like a good idea, but don't tell them your intention of working part-time. Their goal is to get you working full-time.

You could have a sign language interpreter/ or video interpreter available when people begin sessions with you.

Edwin Said:

Deferred from University of Michigan. Do I have a chance? What are the admission rates for defered applicant?

We Answered:

Same answer as the other time you asked this. Stop being a jackass and go to a Texas school. Your family has already paid most of the tuition in their taxes. Why burden the taxpayers in Michigan?

There is rarely any advantage, academically or financially, to going out of state for your Bachelors.
Apply only to Texas public colleges and universities, then go where you want for grad or professional school.

Vincent Said:

What are my chances of getting into the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor?

We Answered:

Your SAT score and ACT scores are perfect! Bring up your GPA and you will get in, but is that your weighted or unweighted GPA?

Nancy Said:

do i have a chance of getting into the university of michigan?

We Answered:

You definitely have a great chance of getting in. Your extra curriculars are amazing and your SAT and ACT scores are above average (I got a 1960 and got accepted) I know for a fact that UM really looks at those application essays thoroughly - they base their first impressions off those if you don't have a powerful essay it will be to your disadvantage so spend a lot of time on that. The engineering school I know is very competitive especially as the majority is Asian but your essay is where you can stand out from everyone else. I am an international student so it's harder for us to get in but I had a little higher of a GPA than you and lower SAT and ACT scores so you definitely have a great chance of getting in. Just show off as much as you can :)
