I worked with Vocational Rehab for my psychiatric disorder (and physical pain secondarily), and since I do not have a Bachelor's degree and wish to change my field of work to find someone which would suit me better, they have been paying for my college education. I haven't had to pay a dime, and this is my third semester back in school.

Voc Rehab has literally turned my life around and given me hope. When the woman in the office told me they would sponsor me, I asked her again to make sure I understood correctly, and I was almost in tears I was so thankful.

She said they could help me with education or finding a job, but not both. If they helped me find a job, they would specifically train me for a line of work, and there are some jobs where the employer gets a monetary benefit for hiring someone through the Voc Rehab program, if they participate in it, so it's a really great tool to use to find work.

Of course it is worth it. Just because she has a disability doesn't mean she can't learn to take care of herself or get a job.

Closing the case just means that once you are successful in your placement and seem to be settled in for a permanent job, the agency will use its resources to help someone else. If the employer doesn't want to hire you after the probationary period, then VR will help you find another job. In MN, even if they have closed your file, if your job is in danger because of your disability (for example, if the employer doesn't think a reasonable accommodation is possible) VR can reopen the file and help you.
