I have to get a Physical?

Its your appointment and you can use it to ask about any issues that you are concerned about. No need to make another appt. unless they want to do some tests for some reason.

Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing?

We Answered:

First of all, if you earn an Associate Degree in Nursing, you are eligible to take the NCLEX to become an RN, not an LPN/LVN....those are vocational programs that you earn a certificate of completion for....not a college degree.

Next, I would recommend you look into a BSN program at a State University. My reasons for this include the fact that most all Associate Degree programs to become an RN have at least a year's wait list to get into the clinical phase. (An Associate Degree program is 2 1/2 years in length. Add that one year (minimum) wait list to that and it's 3 1/2 years....in 4 years you can have a BSN).

Also, there is definitely a trend of moving towards the BSN as the minimum education required to be an RN. There are currently several large hospital systems in the US that require a BSN for all new nurses with no previous RN experience.
