Martha Said:EASY POINTS! degree earned for sister in hair school, for my college application?
We Answered:HS isn't vocational/technical - HS is High School. Even though some high schools have vocational programs - you still have to take a certain common core of general education courses. That makes it not a Vocational/Technical School.
Vocational/Technical means anything that is intended to get you a specific job. In these programs you don't take English, history, math, science, etc... (as we do in an academic education program) but instead take classes almost entirely about what you're getting the diploma in. It includes things like plumbing, carpentry, small engine repair, horticulture, and cosmetology in special schools/programs where that's pretty much all you study there.
She's completing a Vocational/Technical (aka VoTech) program.
Add: some people do indeed attend a college (community or technical college) and complete a full two-year program leading to an Associate of Applied Science in Cosmetology. If that's her situation then she'd be completing an Associates.
Christina Said:Am I eligible for any "cal grants" if my high school gpa was really low?

Kurt Said:Is 1820 on the SAT a relatively good score? ?
We Answered:well, it's bad if you want to get into harvard. however, research the average sat scores for schools you want to get into. that will give you a real answer. if you've in between the range, then you're good. your math score is very good. work on getting all the other scores up to 650 and you could get into top notch schools. good luck
