PA College Questions?

We Answered:

Look into test optional colleges on http://www.fairtest.org/university/optional

Don't forget to include activities you pursued during the summer and jobs you have held.

What is a good electrician trade school in or near Philadelphia, PA?

We Answered:

Electrical apprenticeships are run by contractors or unions, and often both jointly. They usually have their only training buildings, though they may arrange to hold classes at a local community college.

If you can't get an apprenticeship to start, you can do a 6-12 month "pre-apprenticeship" course at many community colleges.

Good decision by the way. More people should start apprenticeships rather than waste their time and money in college.

What are all of the Colleges in or near Pittsburgh, PA?

We Answered:

Hey guys, I'd appreciate it if you would stop by my blog and check it out. I'm going to be doing a full Big East breakdown. Also, for the Pitt fans out there, I will be keeping up to date with the recruiting wars. Feel free to comment any of my blogs and I will do a mailbag type of thing as well. Thank you so much.

Teaching in PA without a certificate - are there any options?

We Answered:

A lot of urban and maybe now even suburban hire people who have really worked in a particular field to teach them- ESPECIALLY Sciences and Math. You would get an emergency certification and then have to take courses/classes on teaching basics like classroom management. I am not sure if you have to go back and get fully certified like someone who started their career in teaching.

Check out PA's Dept of Education website

Also, check on fellowship programs which may be a bit different.
