Vocational Nurse Schools
Zachary Said:
Who do you contact if you have a complaint against a vocational nursing school? We Answered:
This is probably a for-profit, private school. So they can pretty much do what they want. If they choose to treat their students poorly they probably won't get very many more students, won't turn a profit, and will soon go out of "business." If it really is that bad; I would take their advice and find another school where you can be proud to earn your degree from. Since you cannot file a complaint with the state board of education, try the state board for whatever nursing board they are certified through. If they are not certified by a state board of nursing I would definitely run in the other direction as your degree will be no good. Also, if they are a for-profit school you can file a complaint with the better business bureau. Hope this helps and please try to find a school where they will encourage you on your quest to become the best nurse you can be!Fernando Said:
should i go to a nursing vocational schooL?We Answered:
Vocational schools which offer nursing are rare. If you have a chance to go to one, go for it! You never know for sure if you'll like nursing until you actually get out on the floor and do it. You may change your mind. If you don't, you'll have a good idea what you're getting into.Nursing is a good career. You can start out as an LPN, then work on your RN. If you decide you'd rather do something else, nursing is a good way to support yourself while going to college. Good luck!

Does FAFSA give money for vocational schooling? We Answered:
Yes, you can use fafsa to attend a vocational school as long as the school has a federal school code. You can look to see if yours does by going here:http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/FOTWWebApp/FSLoo…
Some of the vocational schools are allowed by the gov to receive federal funds like the Pell, many of them are not allowed to receive student loan money. So you would just have to check each school to find out.

what are the steps to becoming a registered nurse after receiving certificate for a vocational nurse? We Answered:
As far as I know, if you're an LVN you still have to go through a BSN program to become a registered nurse, since RN training is more advanced. It's probably smarter just to go for the BSN, since RNs make more and can advance faster. What I've heard is that people work as nurse aids while they're in their BSN program, so they can still earn money while they're in school.
