Vocational School Online
Ian Said:
What can I do about a vocational school that I feel cheated me?We Answered:
Basically stuck. You did not complete the course. It was not anything the college did wrong. You said it was too difficult for you. Colleges dont give back tuition just because a student fails or does not complete a course.Audrey Said:
Question about going to school online? We Answered:
When someone says, "So long as the college is accredited, you'll be fine", they actually mean that so long as the college is *regionally accredited*, you'll be fine.Penn Foster is not regionally accredited. California Coast U is not regionally accredited. I would have you avoid them for that reason alone. They are accredited - nationally accredited - but that's not the same thing. They need to be, specifically, regionally accredited.
When a school is not regionally accredited, it means that some employers will not accept their degrees as valid, and that if you wanted to transfer those credits - say, to go on for a bachelors degree - you may not be able to do so. You really want any school you're considering to be regionally accredited.
It's also a good idea if the schools you consider are not famous for being either online or for profit. That's because a lot of employers dislike those types of schools. So if you want to get a degree online, try to get it from a college that is a solid, regionally accredited, "brick and mortar" college.
Liberty University is regionally accredited. It's also not a bad school. Another college I want you to look at is Southern New Hampshire University. They offer a lot of degrees online, and aren't terribly expensive. Others that have a lot to offer online, and have good reps, are UMass Amherst, U Maryland, and Penn State. I also like Tiffin University and Northeastern.
In addition, see if your local community colleges, or any ccs or state colleges in your home state, offer degrees online. A lot do, and because you're a state resident, you'll usually get the lower, in-state tuition rates.
