Rhonda Said:
should i go to VOcational school? We Answered:
Nursing is one of the best fields to find financial aid because of the teaching shortage. You might want to check out the local community college because it is affordable, and most offer a nursing degree program. Some states offer grants for those interested in studying nursing. There are a lot of different nursing scholarships out there. I even came across one student loan forgiveness program. The field pays very well. Here is a list of sources to money for college.First, the FAFSA form should be filled out after January 1 of the senior year and be submitted every year until college graduation. By completing it, it will tap into need based financial aid from the state and federal governments along with the college itself.
Second, the high school guidance office can provide a list of local scholarships to apply for consideration to current high school students.
Third, the college's financial aid office and website has a list of private scholarships offered from outside organizations and companies. The nursing program's website might contain some scholarships, too.
Fourth, the public library has a book listing scholarships with some not even listed on the web.
Fifth, I recommend searching for nursing scholarships and grants from your state using Google.com and Yahoo.com. Sometimes it works by searching the state government's website, too.
Finally, I recommend joining several free membership scholarship search websites. There are scholarships for a variety of things including ethnicity, clubs, hobbies, and even wearing duct tape to the high school prom. Most are updated on a regular basis. Most offer a customized search based on information entered onto a form on the website.
Good luck!
