Going to college in the Philippines? We Answered:
I think most if not all the subjects that you took there in the US will be credited in a college degree course (depending on the course that you will attend and if the school you went to in the US is accredited by your Department of Education) Have you checked out some schools you can get into? For Engineering courses, you can try University of the Philippines, Mapua Insitute of Technology. I doubt it if you get a scholarship upon enetering but they normally give scholarships for outstanding or exemplary students here in the Philippines. So you have to keep your grades high if you want to apply for scholarship. The tuition is very much lower as compared to the US but still some schools and universities are still comparable to International standards. Just choose wisely. Yes, SAT is required and you have to ask the registrar's or admisssions department of the school you wanted to enroll in. Life here as a student is worth it depends on how you handle changes, but I do not think you will have any trouble adjusting. People are very friendly and English is well understood. You will learn a whole lot from the experience in living and studying here. Check the websites of the top schools and universities here.
