Your job options will be limited if the school is not accredited. Many employers will want their employees to have attended accredited schools for insurance and quality control purposes. The standard training for a dialysis technician is through an accredited school, so you'll be considered a sub-standard candidate if you do not train with an accredited program. Even if it costs a little more right now, it'll pay off in the long run many times over.

Your child is slow learner but mainstream? Or special needs? There are some special needs centers and schools that accept SN students (list below). Otherwise look for a school with majority students of similar cultural background and/or nationality and low student:teacher ratio. Schools with a large mix of cultures can be good in some ways but, for example, an english speaking school with a high proportion of ESL learners will mean additional demands on teacher and less time to spend on your child. Try and meet teachers as well as school admin to get a feel for what they're like. Trust your instinct more than the words you hear from them.

To be honest with you, I went to school there and graduated back in 1998. Good teachers and nice campus. But it wasnt worth the money they are charging you. They really didnt help me look for a job and you can go to your local junior college and get the same education for much cheaper. Plus the pay for a MA is not that great anyway. Even if you still want to try it out, you still might want to pursue becoming an LVN or RN. Don't waste your time with a vocational school. Go to a real college and get transferable credits, it will help you later. Good luck in your endeavour.

If it's not on there and you choose to attend, you are going to be even farther away from becoming a nurse.....well, an employed nurse!! Hospital networks are very specific about hiring their licensed staff from accredited programs. While the vocational schools you are interested in might be accredited by certain agencies, if it's not the NLN....forget about giving them your money and wasting your time.
