Best technical colleges in NYC?We Answered:
Either Columbia U or the Cooper Union, if you can get in. How are your academics? They'd need to be *extremely* strong for those two schools, but both have great reps in IT and both offer amazing financial aid.NYU is also good in IT, but their financial aid is no where near as strong.

importance of soft skills in software engineers? We Answered:
The major concern would be the gap between the examinations of the universities and the IT skill required in the industry. The examinations are not aligned to help the student in the industry.- Both the technical aspects, as well as soft skills and presentation.Presentation skills are utmost important, as the Indian IT industry is more of services than the product development. When you have services, you would have to present your skills to prospective clients, who may be native English speakers.
Hence, it is imperative that the soft skills are given much importance.
One more aspect to this growing divide (just 25% employable) is that of inadequate teaching staff. The staff simply don't have an idea of what they teach. About two thirds of the Tier-2 engg colleges have teachers that fall into this category.
Sad state though that we do not have teachers who are passionate about their work :(

Project that against the cost of educating the people who are capable of productivity and you will find that the cost benefit far exceeds the marginal overhead of the social welfare systems support of those who were unable, or even unwilling, at the time to avail themselves of the opportunity when it was originally presented...Florence Said:
quality of technical education in India? We Answered:
Quantity of Technical professionals in the country if we correlate it in terms of the Professionals passing out every year from the various technical colleges situated in various part of the country is Huge .But if we talk about the Quality of standard of these passout professionals then just few colleges fulfill the demands of the corporates and industries, while majority of coleges are just providing a degree with no real world professional knowledge to students.
While the scenario in other developed countries is differnent , they are lacking the number of professionals they need for the work but those that are passing from ther institutes are having real enthusiasm.
But in total if we consider the point that India still a developing country and still maintaining such huge base is phenomenal. and the technical education can be termed Satisfactory for now but need a lot improvement to make come under the developed nation list.
