Tech Vocational School

Stanley Said:

Do you have to go to a vocational school or some type of school to become a pharmacy tech?

We Answered:

they have help wanted signs at cvs some times asking for pharmacy techs and it always says will train so I think if they hire you they provide you with training as well you just have to ask where ever you put an application in if they provide training otherwise you could call a community collage or a tech school that may offer that.

VOCATIONAL SCHOOL (ITT TECH OR TESST) VS. COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOR IT?

We Answered:

ITT Tech is a rip off. It's a scam. It's a for-profit school and they will take your money. I don't recommend that you go to ITT Tech; it's not a good school. Consider going to a different vocational school and research your options. There are many types of vocational schools that are accredited. Community college is also a good option.

What tech schools / vocational schools should I consider?

We Answered:

All of the Systems Analyst guys I've spoken to from California have gone to a masters program at either USC or Stanford. From what I'm told Stanford gets the best grants for their computer science departments, and when considering schools grants are important. These will determine what kind of technology you get to work with and how much hands on experience you will have. As far as what you may want to be...If you're looking to get certifications in the field, the best money seems to be in Information Systems management with a focus on SQL, database software, Java enterprise, C/C# and so on. It might also be a good idea to get some experience in emerging technologies such as ruby/ruby on rails. If you do decide to pursue an information systems management career, you can expect to take a lot of data structure courses, statistics, and programming courses.
