Technical And Vocational Schools

Donald Said:

Are vocational/technical schools worth it to take medical assistant, medical billing or dental assistant?

We Answered:

Absolutely!! I'm 61 now and have gone through dental asst, medical billing and codeing (4 yrs ago) and now do it from home, vet tech, and certified nursing asst. It's much less expensive and grants are available and also payment plans. It's really worth your time and effort to at least check your options!!!

To your 2nd question - of course. Most places won't even look at a resume if you've had no formal traing. They aren't going to take their time and money to train you!!

Clayton Said:

Are there student loans or financial aid for technical or vocational schools ?

We Answered:

Most accredited schools have a financial counselor in the admissions department. Yes, there is aid available, and you may want to contact your local Dept of Labor they will also assist you.

Duane Said:

is vocational schools good for respiratory therapist ?

We Answered:

I went to a 2 year program out at Victor Valley College in Victorville, CA. It was a junior college and didn't cost much at all (except for books). Of course this was 24 years ago. With a 2 year program you can sit for your RRT exam, otherwise you will only be able to be a CRT. My advice is to make sure what ever school you attend, make sure you are able to sit for your RRT when you are done.
