I couldn't complete the search for you because I wasn't sure what category sound engineering was under, but all you have to do is use the college search and select a major then under location just select Florida. A list will come up and you can personalize the search even more if you want.

Well, why are your parents so against this school?

Is it because you could get into a "better" school on account of your intellect?
If that's the case, you'll have to explain to them that you'd be happier doing something you love, rather than something with prestige or high pay. Money and status are of little comfort if you hate your job. Plus, it's a given that you do better if you like your program. You're more motivated to study, and pay more attention in class.
You could always propose doing this degree, and seeing what kind of money you make. If it turns out to not be enough, you could always go back to school for a Bachelor, and finance it through your work with motorcycles. In this economy, it'll be nice to not depend on a McJob.

If it's because your parents don't think a girl should go into such a traditionally male profession, there are plenty of arguments against that. Is societal approval really worth your happiness? Plus, sometimes male-dominated fields actively seek females. My dad teaches computer science at a university, and says that nowadays, if an equally qualified man and woman both apply for a job in CS there, the woman would be likelier to get the job. Recently, the department had me do some photography for a brochure they were making to attract more women into CS.

Go to the motorcycle school, After all, you love it. Then try to make a living doing it. While you are doing that, go to the University part time so you will have a "back-up" in the event you can't make it as a motorcycle mechanic; racer, collector etc. I have always told my children to "do what you love to do for a living, but if you can't make a living doing it,..do it as a hobby ....and get a job!

Don't know much about them offhand. If I were looking for technical training, I'd try Florida State College (formerly FCCJ) first. Not only do they have several campuses around town, but they're likely to be cheaper than a private technical school.

Your Uncle's shop is better than any technical school.Shops use the internet to diagnose cars so the business side matters more.Anyone can go to Autozone and they will connect a scanner and diagnose the problem for free.Bill padding is outrageous at dealerships but that money does not trickle down to the mechanic.You will get the hay after it has passed through the elephant.Learn to remove hybrid motors and install diesel replacements.

It does not matter, you have to judge each school individually. You want it to be busy with clients, bright and clean, and have no less than one teacher for every 18 students to get the kind of attention that you need, especially at the beginning when everything is new. Go to salons and ask the managers what they recommend. They will have experience hiring stylists from local schools and will be able to tell you the best ones. But I have to say that technical schools often times have bigger budgets as they charge more, so you may get better facilities and tools, but you're paying for them.
