Technical Vocational Education

Bruce Said:

Can someone explain this paragraph? thank you?

We Answered:

Sounds like public schools VS. private schools and there not being enough government funding. As for the "internationalization" - that is just self explanitory. What is this regarding? Seems ambiguous.

Chester Said:

Could you revise this paragraph please?

We Answered:

Many people in our society have the belief that individuals with a higher education, for example, those with college degrees or those working in an industry requiring highly skilled training, are in some way better or "above" others.

In his essay, "Prison Studies," Malcolm X describes the "homemade education" he received during his imprisonment in Charlestown Prison. During this time, he worked on educating himself. He read and rewrote every word found in the dictionary. He read countless books. He enriched his knowledge to the point that others attributed it to many years of rigorous university study.

The experience changed his life completely. "My homemade education gave me, with every additional book that I read, a little bit more sensitivity to the deafness, dumbness, and blindness that was afflicting the black race in America." (par. 15, page 77)

Malcom X became more aware and realistic about the problems and challenges black men faced in education.
