What are the different methods in becoming an Ultrasound Technician?

We Answered:

You CAN go through an non-accredited program, but that means you have to find someone who is willing to hire you without being Registered. The best option is to go through a CAAHEP accredited program, that way you are eligible to take your boards right after graduating. That is what employers are looking for - Registered Sonographers. And as long as the program is accredited, it doesn't really matter what type of degree it is (certificate/associate's/bachelor's).

You wouldn't want to waste your time and money on a non-accredited program, and then be unable to find a job. It just is not worth it.

High Schools ~ Technical/Vocational vs. Public Schools.?

We Answered:

Well I see your problem. I think you should do what you want to do. Andi think that i be in the health field. where i live you attend high school and go to a vocational/technical school called EVIT (east valley institue of technology) and i take the medical assisting class there. its like free college! when i graduate i can take my test to be a certified medical assistant or registered medical assistant. anyways lol i think you should go to the vocational high school. if you can get a head start on your career then why not! it will only help you in the long run and you can be garunteed a job when you finish high school (since the health field is such a fast growing field) I think the vocational school will help you more :)
