Vocational Trade Schools

Lois Said:

How are trade/vocational schools different from regular college?

We Answered:

hi.

first of all, it is not hard to get into a trade school. they cost a lot of money because you're skipping all the general education in college. it is definitely hands on and classroom education. you have to be knowledgeable when you get out of school to work. i know some schools do have an externship for a month before you can graduate. i'm going to Everest College for dental assisting and 2 hours of my class are classroom time. we take a vocabulary test everyday and our teacher lectures out of the book and tells us real life situations he has gone through. he makes sure everyone understands everything. then we go to lunch and then go to lab. in lab is where we learn our hands on for the next 2 hours. i've only been in school for a month and i have learned how to do x-rays, coronal polishing, periodontal dressing, how to take vital signs... my tuition is $14,000 for 8 months with books and uniform included.

We Answered:

A lot of online schools offer vocational courses. Forest Trial Academy is one of those top reputed online schools offering vocational diploma. As it is accredited by authorities like NALSAS and NAPHS so getting your diploma from that school would be worth your time and money.

Does anyone know of a good vocational trade schools that offer good courses for beoming a nutritionist?

We Answered:

Well, the good news is, I found a great site with clear information about becoming a nutritionist. http://www.nutripeople.co.uk/nutritional…
However, it's UK relevant, and I think you're American. (You probably don't want to spend that much money.)

In the states, I don't know where you live, what your budget is like, what your GPA is, etc. So, you'll have to investigate for yourself which universities where.

This site has some grad programs for the study of nutrition.

Other things to think about it what qualifications your home state requires. License, certificate, registration, or none of the above?

If I guessed wrong, and you're Canadian, go here: http://www.ionc.org/index.cfm?page=schoo…

A word of warning, there are lots of places that offer a "distant learning nutritionist certificate". Don't go for it. They're a bunch of crap.

Discuss It!
