The quickest and best way to learn is to get an internship at a newspaper or the next best thing is to find a small printing business near you and ask to work at any job in the business, and then talk everyday about the business to the owner.
It's time for 4 years of classes to translate to actual job experience. There is something called "job shadowing" where you follow workers at the jobs you are interested in to see how you will like them. Your school should have a job counselor to help you with that or call the state's employment office for a workforce officer who can help you. Lots of stuff out here, just go look for what you want.

I like your ideas, especially the part about having retirees with skills teach them.I think young people have a natural urge to learn, but that urge is squelched by the school system somehow.

Why not ask someone who teaches in an Early Childhood Education program in a boces type school? I would assume that someone with an Early childhood education major with a family and consumer science minor would be good. I definitely don't think a degree in secondary education would prepare you for dealing with children in the early childhood program. You could also look at the state education requirements for certification in various areas. You should be able to find that info on line at the State Department of Education website.

It is what it is. You are a junior in high school so thats what you put. Trust me chik-fil-a does not expect you to have a phd or anything. Fast food joints are always hiring high school kids.
