What Is A Vocational College

Jose Said:

The private college (vocational) that i applied for wants me to take out two loans worth 29+k do i do it?

We Answered:

That is WAY WAY WAY too much to pay to become a radiologic technologist. Is the program accredited? Will you be eligible to take the ARRT exam when you graduate? You can find accredited radiography programs here: http://www.arrt.org/index.html?content=h… or here: http://www.jrcert.org/cert/Search.jsp

Loretta Said:

Major Ethics Problem at Vocational College, what should I do?

We Answered:

Well many low end vocational teaching jobs are like this.

1. Don't quit, find a better job. If you quit you will lose.
2. Criminals and drug users need education as much as everyone else. I have been involved in education for many years. On enough occasions I have motivated lazy students to learn, often they are the best students from then on. It is very difficult, but hey don't turn it into a fight or a matter of will, or you will lose. Rather make it a matter of solving a problem, getting them working.
3. If studends really don't work, then fail them. Write a clear note. Not one that makes you sound better than the school. Instead write, "I am very sorry, but try as I might, the following student has not completed all their assesssments. When they hand in their project I will be more than happy to pass them." That stops it being a fight.
4. Stop worry and start living. I mean, 1 one students cheats the system, the others don't. In the end don't worry, could be worse. Life is full of moral problems. But hey this druggie is never going to get a real job, or if they do, they will lose it after a day or two.

Byron Said:

Uni? College? Vocational course? Events Management or Office Work?

We Answered:

Honey ( I'm southern) if you'll excuse an old "Mama" from giving advice --
You're going about this the wrong way. 1st and foremost stop and ask yourself one question. What would you choose to do if you didn't have to think about money or would do it for free if you had alot of cash. Then pursue that. Money is needful but not everything, so, try to get in line with your passion or heart. Then you'll enjoy your work and be successful. No one was ever successful who didn't love what they were doing. 2nd-and last- don't spend the money to go to college unless you know exactly what your there to become! Something like 60 or more percent of the people who graduate don't even go into their chosen fields. How ludicrous (to me). Bravo for considering your options! Shows you have initiative. Good luck.
